The author’s major claims are that one ought to have “theMultiple Subject Teaching Credential” to become an elementaryschool teacher in California. Alternatively, the author notes thatschool districts might employ different criteria.

The author supports the first claim by noting that the “MultipleSubject” is accountable for approving teaching in different schoollevels in California. For the second claim, school districts mightseek preliminary or clear credential. The preliminary credentialremains valid for a period of five years. Also, there areprerequisites for getting the credential. I agree with the author that the credentials have to be met for anindividual to teach in elementary.

Based on personal experience, the credentials are an importantprerequisite in ensuring that the teacher is in a perfect position toinstill knowledge in students. The processes explained in the articledepict that an individual has to be properly trained for the job.This provides a basis for employing school districts on what criteriato use in hiring.

The information can be used when employing an assistant teacher toassist in my classroom. The criteria will ensure that the mostqualified teacher is selected.

The rationale is that the six domains make it possible to measurewhether a beginning teacher will effectively instill knowledge instudents. By expounding on teaching tasks applicable to every domainit becomes possible to assess whether new teachers will delivercomprehensible programs to their students.

I agree with the author.

This is because most beginning teachers do not have experience.Rather, they rely on the education they get on how to teach. Althougha teacher may meet the required educational qualification, it iscrucial that they are able to apply the education into practice.Teaching needs direct results. For instance, a teacher needs to besure that the students understand a topic if they all pass in theirexams. Supposing that the whole class fails, it is highly likely thestudents did not understand the topic. Hence, ensuring teachers areaware of their performance expectations is crucial.

The information can be used in conducting personal performanceevaluations. Using instructions provided under the six domains, it ispossible for any teacher to assess their performance. Therefore it isprobable to validate if the performance meets expectations asstipulated by TPEs.
