Graphicalrepresentation is widely used in heath care to help the processing ofdata into a more meaningful form whereby different types of data arepresented in a different ways. Graphs help in showing the trends ina clear way thereby leading to improved understanding of theinformation the researcher wants to convey about a given health event(Pond, 2005).
Thekind of graph shown is a bar graph. The proper graph was not used torepresent data in cases of diarrhea disease because the data wasquantitative which is contrary to the data represented using a bargraph that is mainly qualitative. Bar graph was not the best way todisplay the data since it could only handle a certain limit ofquantitative data since its best for representing qualitative dataabout the traits and perceptions of individuals in the society. Ahistogram could have been the best graphical representation of thisdata as it was numerical hence quantitative in nature. Additionally,line graph could also have been used to compare data for diarrheacases for different years to show how the trends have been changingover time. The scope and scale of the graph were appropriate becausethe graph represents well monthly cases of diarrhea for one year withthe vertical bars clearly displaying the distribution of cases in thepopulation. The graph supports findings of the research article sinceit illustrates monthly variations in the number of diarrhea casesbased on the season with a slight increase in diarrhea cases towardsthe end of the year.
