However, demographics implies that Boston is thefourth largest city in jazz followers and popularity behind New YorkCity at position one and Los Angeles. However, despite the greater competition in the jazz field,Boston continues to enjoy a significant popularity in jazz music, andits clubs continue to be a cherished destination for many Americans.

Bostonjazz music started as an entertainment front but later developed intoan art. That can be proved by the establishment of an institutionsuch as the Berkley College of Music and the New EnglandConservatory. Berkley College of Music is an institution in theBoston that offer music and contemporary education in the UnitedStates. NEC on its part was established to nurture talent and offereducation for jazz music to facilitate its development. The commonaspect of the two is that they were both established with an aim ofdeveloping the music industry and more so jazz.
